I remember growing up as a child in the late 80′s and the early 90′s being a bit of a book geek. I also loved and devoured comic books. But my alltime favourite thing was the Where’s Wally series of books. These books have become bestsellers around the world, and Wally has undergone a name change in the various countries in which he has been published. Hence in the USA Wally’s name was changed to Waldo (who knows why?)

If any of you are unfamiliar with the books, the basic principle is that you have to find the tiny figure of Wally amongst a cast of thousands in many different scenes. In the more complex scenes it can literally take you hours to find Wally!

I was delighted to find out that the costume manufacturers recently launched the officially licensed Where’s Wally Costume. It features the trademark red and white stripy Wally T-Shirt, his distinctive bright blue trousers, and of course his hat and round spectacles. It looked fantastic on me! The only other thing that I needed to add was a walking cane. When I wore this fabulous costume to my best friend’s fancy dress party I got some absolutely fantastic comments from my friends. In fact 3 of my friends went out the very next week and bought themselves the very same costume! There’s nothing quite like being a trend setter is there?
